The economic entity of the financial mechanism of pensions as a tool for implementing state policy of social and economic development. A structural-functional model of the financial mechanism pension, based on the use of adaptive financial architectonics, integrating economic, fiscal, social, demographic components of state regulation of social and economic development. Improved position regarding the features of formation and development of the financial mechanism of pensions, methodological principles determining the interdependence of financial regulation social development, dynamics of key macroeconomic indicators and the level of pensions, mixed approaches to the functioning of the pension system, based on the ordering of public and private pension institutions. Generalized and systematized the experience of the financial mechanism of the formation of pensions in developed and transitional economies. Developed provisions on financial regulation pension that will improve the quality of the financial component of the social protection system, approaches to the medium-term budget forecast pension fund.
