Оbject: University of old industrial region. Purpose: To identify the factors of institutional evolution and organizational dynamics of the modern university old industrial region (on the example of Donbass). Research methods: a historical and systematic methods, questionnaires, traditional analysis of documents, standardized interviews and case studies. Theoretical and practical results: found that the organizational dynamics of universities old industrial region does not correspond to the institutional evolution of higher education of Ukraine primarily target orientation the parameters; based on the provisions of neo-institutionalism and theories of organizations is developed the conceptual apparatus of investigation and institutional evolution of organizational dynamics University of old industrial region, particularly in the scientific revolution introduced the concept of "organizational dynamics of the university" and "university population." Novelty: the definition and conceptualization of institutional factors and evolution of organizational dynamics of universities in the old industrial regions (for example, Donbass). Degree of introduction: the results of research are used in teaching "Sociology", "Sociology of Organizations", "Sociology of the family, upbringing and education", "Sociology of Regions" students Taras Shevchenko National University of Luhansk; proposed the concepts of entrepreneurial university were introduced in the principles of management of the university.
