Sorvachov O. Protection of Industrial Designs in Ukraine.

The thesis is a special complex research of problems of legal protection of intellectual property rights for industrial designs based on the current legislation of Ukraine. The stages of development of legal protection of industrial designs, shortcomings of current legislation on industrial designs are defined in the article. Doctrinal and practical approaches to the regulation of relations on industrial designs in the market economy conditions, their relationship with the settlement of relations concerning other industrial property objects, e.g. inventions and utility models were established. Criteria for patentability of industrial designs and their influence on the regulation of relations for the protection of industrial design were specified. Factors promoting the development and implementation in production and sales promotion in national high-tech product markets were revealed. Theoretically reasoned proposals and recommendations on improvement of the current legislation on legal protection of industrial designs were formulated.
