Pharmacognostic studies for the leaves of plantain (Plantago media and Plantago altissima) has been done for the first time. It has been assessed qualitative composition and quantitative content of the following ingredients: Vitamin K1, aucubin, essential oil, Vitamin C, organic acids, tannins, flavonoids, hydroxycoric acids, caratinoids, amino-acids, polysaccharides, macro-and microelements, nitrates and nitrites within the period of vegetation.
