Taranenko K. Pragmatics of the antonymy of Ukrainian language.

Object - antonyms in the Ukrainian language. Objective - justification of the subjective factors of the antonymy of Ukrainian language, clarification of basic components of the context relevant information in the structure of lexical meaning of antonyms. Methods - descriptive analysis, component analysis, contextual analysis, psychosemantic methods, associative experiment, transactional analysis, analytical methods. Thesis introduces a comprehensive analysis of pragmatic component of lexical meaning of antonyms in the Ukrainian language, singles out the main microcomponents of pragmatically relevant information in the structure of antonymic pairs, forms methodological framework for the empirical study of pragmatic phenomena within the antonymy. The original empirical research presented in the thesis identifies personal, pragmatic and communicative meanings assigned to members of the antonymic oppositions of the Ukrainian language. It defines pragmatic potential and peculiarities of the usage of components of antonymic pairs within communication strategies and tactics and shows typical scenarios of psychological game having pragmatic peculiarities of the antonymy of the Ukrainian language involved. The research clarifies the mechanism of pragmatical influence on a recipient, within the scope of artistic and literary discourse, when instruments of antonymic system of the Ukrainian language are used.
