The dissertation, which is a complex scientific research, is dedicated to theoretical grounds and empirical study of the role of prince's power within state formation of Kievan Rus in the IXth - the beginning of the XIIth centuries. The author defines the main trends and character of the prince's power and its influence on the state formation of Kievan Rus in the IXth - the beginning of the XIIth centuries. The functions of prince's power in the pagan period and after Christianity adoption and their quantitative and qualitative changes and influence on state formation trends are revealed. New outlook on the process of collecting taxes and implementing administrative reform in Kievan Rus has been formulated. The essence, character and conditions of prince's accountability to Veche are analysed. The influence of prince's power on the process of city development is outlined.
