Essay

The thesis is devoted to the topic of legal regulation of foreign investments in Ukraine during XIX - XX centuries, in the context of regulatory support, and practical in some regions of the Russian Empire, with a predominantly ethnic Ukrainian population. It consists of three chapters, introduction and conclusions, which contain analysis of the development of scientific problems and sources of the empirical research, the main methodological principles, the problem of terminological clarity and semantic content of the concept of "investments" for the current legislation of the Russian Empire. The thesis reflects such questions as policy of the Russian government in attracting foreign capital in order to intensify industrial production, development of mineral deposits, the construction of railway lines, especially near Donetsk-Krivoy Rog basin. The corporations on foreign investment can be an illustrate of the true scale of investment in mining and metallurgical segments of the economy of Ukraine. A great attention is paid to the legal provisions and such enterprises as "Novorossiysk Society of coal, rail and rail production" which were founded by D. Hughes, "Russian Providans" founded by L. Bedyuve, joint stock company with a capital of british brothers P . and T. Elvorti and others who work solely as foreign investors. Their work was based on the Russian legislation, which took priority interests, and secondary - the interests of foreign investors. Sklavshys mainly agrarian reform in time, this situation persisted until the early twentieth century. In fact, before the introduction of a constitutional monarchy in the Russian Empire.
