Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the actual theoretical and applied problem of saving energy and material resources to increase the power efficiency of domestic lighting systems by developing quite new approaches to the design and feeding of lighting systems based on the light-emitting diode (LED) light sources and to monitor their operation. There is suggested a method and software of plotting luminous intensity distribution curves which allow increasing the accuracy of lighting calculations and designing lighting plants with set-up characteristics and parameters. The LED light sources degradation being taken into account, there were developed the methods of asymmetry evaluation and theoretical and methodological bases of forecasting their service life. The scientific bases of a combined system of supplying both lighting plants and consumers with power were developed and a way of reducing higher harmonics was updated by eliminating a nonlinear element out of the power system. Relying on the results of the work, the energy efficient systems and the devices of practical implementation of energy saving ways in the domestic lighting systems were developed.
