Levkovska V. Scientific rationale for the principles of ecological and hygienic safety of coastal water recreational areas (Odessa Bay, for example)

The dissertation is devoted for the actual scientific problem solving scientific justification approaches for the study of ecological and hygienic safety of the marine environment in the area of recreational water use. Analysis of the quality was conducted of the marine environment in the area of recreational Odessa Bay water and dynamics of anthropogenic pollution depending on the intensity of recreation and season. The assessment of ecological and hygienic safety in the area of discharge of treated wastewater was fulfilled. It was established that the main reason for the unsatisfactory state of ecological and hygienic safety of the marine environment in the area of recreational water use was revenues of sewage. In connection with this level of sea water pollution in place of sewage discharge during the observation period remained high. The safe method for disinfection of wastewater with the use of frequency currents was developed. This method shows high (?93%) efficiency of disinfecting of biologically cleared sewage. The effectiveness of disinfection of wastewater with application of high frequency currents was investigated in the experiment. It showed the lowering of sanitary and microbiological indices for acceptable levels. Priorities for the development of coastal recreational areas of the priority prophylactic measures for the development of coastal recreational areas of Odessa region and their exploitation and ensuring of the adequate level of their epidemic safety level were indentified. Odessa region and ensure an adequate level of safety in their epidemiological guide preventive measures.
