The actuality of development of knowledge of senior pupils about content and role of chemical elements in human body and environment; its intersubject character; ways and means of realization are theoretically given. The concepts "development of knowledge about chemical elements" and "optional intersubject courses" are detailed. Methodical system of development of knowledge of senior pupils about chemical elements at optional intersubject courses is developed. According to the results, such components as: motivational, target-oriented, semantic, procedural, estimate and resultative are revealed.
