Litovchenko I. The dynamic processes in Ukrainian military vocabulary (names of weapon, accoutrements, military installations)

The thesis is dedicated to the study of the peculiarities of the dynamic processes in Ukrainian military vocabulary (names of weapon, accoutrements, military installations). The essence of the concept "military vocabulary" is defined. The main approaches to the classification of military vocabulary are analyzed. The extra-lingual determinants which stimulate the development of the investigated vocabulary are characterized, facts of their influence on the dynamic processes in the investigated subsystem are described taking into consideration their interaction with intra-lingual factors. The spesific paradigmatic connections in lexico-semantic groups "Names of weapon", "Names of accoutrements", "Names of military installations" are established. Special attention has been attached to derivational processes in military vocabulary (morphological ways of building up military lexical units and the results of syntactic derivation). The mechanism of individual elements of the military sublanguage adaptation to the new conditions of their functioning is considered and their functional reorientation is outlined. The means of new nomination in the military vocabulary on the examples of lexico-semantic groups "Names of weapon", "Names of accoutrements", "Names of military installations" are analyzed. The etymology and ways of penetration and mastering of borrowings in the Ukrainian military vocabulary are revealed.
