The paper is devoted to the search for new biologically active substances among of substituted 4-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxy-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxylic acids and their derivatives. Preparative methods of obtaining have been suggested and synthesis of these compounds has been carried out. The antihypoxic and analgesic properties of the substances synthesized have been studied. It allows to reveal the “chemical structure – biological action” relationships and recommend 4-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxy-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxylic acid (3-morpholin-4-ylpropyl)-amide hydrochloride as a promising antihypoxant for further study.
