Aim: investigation of Ukrainian dramatic joke's genre nature at the end of XIX-the beginning of XX century in the accordance with porubidzya's dramatic joke in the system of other comic (and non-comic) genre form, in the analysis of thematically-poetical renewal of jokes and changes in fictional and communicative author's strategies. It is the first time, when there is a formation of scientific position in as regards to metagenre nature of Ukrainian dramatic joke at the end of XIX-the beginning of XX century. Methods: formal, structural, historically-genetic, receptive aesthetics. Sphere of use - higher school.
