Essay

The dissertation is devoted to actual of problem diagnostics and treatment for complex anorectal fistulas. The diagnostic algorithm using transrectal ultrasound and three dimentional magnetic resonance tomography was introduced. Two sphincter-preserving procedures were developed: plastic method and intrasphincteric ligation of fistular pathway method, which improve immediate and long-term results compared to conventional ligation treatment. Finally, treatment protocol for complex anorectal fistulas was developed.
