Essay

Thesis is devoted to the elucidation of the oxidant and immune disorders in the pathogenesis of mechanical non-penetrating trauma of the cornea and proving effectiveness of keratoxenoplasty in its correction. For the first time (within 14 days) peculiarities of the oxidant and immune disorders in the animals organism after non-penetrating trauma of the cornea and usage of keratoxenoplasty were established in dynamics. It is proved that non-penetrating corneal injury against the backdrop of conservative treatment is accompanied by activation of lipid peroxidation, inhibition of enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidant defense units both in blood and in the homogenate of rabbit cornea throughout the experiment. Morphologically there is inadequate regeneration of corneal tissue with violation of the cornea defect epithelialization, dyscomplectation of the collagen fibers of the cornea own substance structure and its moderate inflammatory infiltration. It is shown that after plastic of cornea by the keratoxenoimplant occurs decreaseing in activity of lipids free radical oxidation, decreaseing of antioxidant disturbances of corneal tissue and blood serum, activation of the cellular and humoral immune system are observed, violations of the nonspecific resistance factors are reduced. After 14 days of the experiment there is a complete restoration of the structure of cornea stratified anterior epithelium and pronounced reduction of the areas of granulation in the cornea own substance.
