Kondratyeva N. Civic and ethnic identity in contemporary Ukrainian society.

Object: civil and ethnic identity of Odessa main ethnic groups. Objective: detection of changes in civil and ethnic identities in contemporary Ukrainian society (Odessa city as the example). Research methods: analysis and synthesis, logic synthesis method, typology, questionnaire, methods of grouping and classification. Theoretical and practical results: the concept of "social imagination" is conceptualized and operationalized; factors in the formation of ethnic and civic identities in the context of multi-ethnic city are identified and characterized. Novelty: determining factors of the transformation of civic and ethnic identity in contemporary Ukrainian society (Odessa). Implementation stage: the research results are used in teaching the subjects "Sociology of culture", "Sociology of personality" and "Ethno Sociology" for students of the Odessa national Academy of telecommunications named after O. S. Popov.
