Dissertation research is devoted to the analysis of scientific and pedagogical heritage of the outstanding Ukrainian tyflopedagogue, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Ilya Semenovich Morgulis (1928 - 2011). The thesis revealed way of life, professional and social activities of the pedagogue, shows the development in works and pedagogical activity of the scientist of theoretical positions of correctional and educational process with children with visual impairments. The essence of scientific contribution of I.S. Morgulis to tiflological science is shown, his school of sciences and its value is characterized, value of results of scientific researches of I.S Morgulis for the development of a domestic and world tiflologiya is generalized.
