In the thesis theoretically and experimentally substantiated methods of forming of the computer science competencies of senior students when using complex tasks during carrying out of practical works. The concept of "computer competence", their separate components and the ways of their formation disciples. Developed methodical recommendations on creation and use of integrated tasks for carrying out of practical works on computer science. Clarified the essence of such concepts as "monitoring" and "diagnosis" of educational activity of students; the process of implementation of the diagnosis of learning achievements of pupils of the senior classes and training in General, Informatics in secondary schools.
