Karpinska N. Resocialization of juvenile females in the juvenile correctional facility.

In the thesis research a review of the scientific literature on the problem under investigation is realized, induction of the concept of resocialization of juvenile females in both scientific and practical levels is grounded as the aim and tasks of working with juveniles sentenced to deprivation of liberty in the concepts, programmes and aims of educational colony. The necessity of the gender approach application in the organization of the whole system of activity of educational colonies for juvenile females is grouded. The analysis of the main criminological characteristics of juvenile female deliquency for the last period, compared with the crime characteristics in general, as well as juvenile delinquency and criminality of females is realized. The determinants of personality and criminological portrait of convicted juvenile to the imprisonment are characterized. A study of convicts' personalities who serve a sentences in Melitopol educational colony for juvenile female on the basis of socio-demographic indicators, criminal legal indications, social functions and roles, moral and psychological characteristics of the individual as those, which fully determine the characteristics of their resocialization in a juvenile educational colony is realized. Foreign experience of resocialization of juvenile female sentenced to imprisonment is studied and main means of resocialization of juvenile females in the educational colony are highlighted. The paper contains proposals on alterations and additions to the draft Law of Ukraine "About Probation", Criminal Code of Ukraine, Criminal Executive Code of Ukraine, as well as proposals on improvement of the state action organization in the sphere of resocialization of juveniles sentenced to imprisonment.
