Investigations of 80 pregnant women with HBV infection and healthy women with physiologic gestation course were analyzed. On the basis of a comprehensive study of the clinical presentation data and instrumental methods, diagnosis of fetoplacental complex disorders in pregnant women with HBV infection was improved. Features of pigmentary, enzymatic and protein synthetic hepatic function changes in pregnant women with HBV infection were studied. The author established interrelation between the frequency of development, degree of placental dysfunction manifestation and the presence of abnormal variations in endothelial system, the functional state of the liver in pregnant women with HBV infection. It was found that the high content of endothelin and tumor necrosis factor as well as decreased content of prostacyclin in pregnant women with HBV infection indicated local placental ischemia. A range of therapeutic and preventive measures using arginine glutamate and artichoke extract were developed and implemented. This allowed to decrease the frequency of development and degree of placental dysfunction manifestation, thereby to reduce the level of obstetric and perinatal complications in the examined pregnant women.
