Essay

The author presents the results of estimating 24 introduced apple cultivars economic and biological peculiarities in the Western Lisosteppe of Ukraine as well as has determined the economic efficiency of their fruits production on the rootstock 54-118 under the rainfed conditions. The cultivars Vil'muta, Jonagold, Pinova, Antei, Nadzyeiny, Syabrina, and Charavnitsa are recognized as perspective for the farm testing in the research region whereas Golden Delicious Reinders, Jonagold, Jonagored, Pinova for using in breeding as sources of certain characteristics and 'Vil'muta', 'Graf Ezzo', 'Decosta', 'Imant' and 'Syabrina'.
