Essay

The thesis deals with one of the most common object of comparative jurisprudence - domestic, foreign and international legal acts in the in the sphere of ensuring external security of Ukraine and the European Union member states. Comparative legal analysis of the main directions of the national security policy of Ukraine and the European Union member states in the foreign policy and foreign economic areas of the development is made on the basis of normative legal acts (i.e. laws, doctrines, concepts, strategies etc.). It is suggested that external security as well as internal should be defined as specific components of national security of each of the European Union member state including Ukraine. It is shown that legal policy of security and defense of all the of all the European members states is a component of common and shared foreign policy and the European Union security policy. The author gives his characteristic of the concept of "external security state" as a level of protection of the objects of security which is ensured by the vigorous activity of subjects state of power, justice administration and public nongovernmental organizations to combat the real and potential foreign political and economic threats to protect national interests.
