Essay

This work is devoted to the study of the emission characteristics and parameters of low-temperature gas-discharge plasma on the basis of donor molecules of OH* spicies. Another compounds for the generation UV radiation by discharge plasma were first used the aqueous solutions of substances such as hydrogen peroxide, ammonia and alcohol. The main feature of water solutions of these substances is that they are potential donors of hydroxyl radicals OH. Numerical simulation results, as well as experiment with water vapor orient to use the optimal values 280 Td of the reduced electric field at which the electron energy loss relative to the excitation of ОН* reaches a maximum. UV luminescence enhancement of plasma-based water vapor on the A-X transition of OH* can be achieved by adding of argon, and the gain of the EUV emission at C-A and B-X transitions of hydroxyl - by introduction of helium. With the addition of a certain concentration of argon an additional and highly effective pumping mechanism of the OH radical is involved and thereby leading to luminescence power density growth at А-Х transition of the ОН* radical up to 9 times.
