Essay

The process of cold rolling of strips and the required equipment. Expansion of the production range of continuous four-stand rolling mills by means of rolling-off and ensuring flatness of rolled stock 0.3-0.4 mm thick on the basis of developing the corresponding designing methods and developing practical recommendations for perfection of rolling practice, further improvement of the equipment of working stands and application of lubricants. For theoretical part of the investigation the fundamentals of theories of strength of materials, mechanics of contact interactions, elasticity, plasticity and rolling practice were used, as well as engineering and numerical approaches, theory of the planned experiment and fundamentals of optimization and mathematical statistics. Experimental investigations include determination of the lead and efficiency of lubricants, the force and momentum of rolling, strips precision in thickness and average temperature of bearings. Measurements were made on slide gauges, micrometers, tensor-sensors, thickness gauges and thermal imager. The methods of calculation of the parameters of rolling were amended. New data were obtained, regarding axial forces, acting upon bearings. Mathematical models, methods and computer software were obtained, it all making possible to develop a new method of rolling practice and some practical recommendations, ensuring rolling off and flatness of thin strips, manufactured on 1700 rolling mill. The results of the thesis were used at the cold rolling mill shop of "Ilyich iron and steel works" PJSC and also for university teaching. The expected economic effect is equal 610 thousand UAH, having regard to equity participation of author. The sphere of application - metallurgy.
