Attention is paid to the study of models of narration, narrative thematology level, specificity of visual "storytelling" (pictures-books, graphic prose, comics, and illustrations). As a result of conceptualization of the narrative identity in Ukrainian and Belarusian prose for children, taking into consideration the social and cultural contexts of transitional period (the end of the XX - beginning of the XXI century) in Ukraine and Belarus, the analysis of similar / different in the "national child" concept creation is conducted.
