Essay

In the thesis the author analyses main tendencies of big city transformations in societal dimension. Social space is investigated as three categorical concept including socio-spatial structure, spatial practices and space of perception. The changes of Lviv and Warsaw during last 80 years are analysed as double transformation of urban space. The study of spatial practices and space of perception is conducted on the example of Ukrainian migrants' community in Warsaw and Lviv's residents.
