Furman O. Diagnosis and correction of luteal phase deficiency in women with polycystic ovary syndrome.

Object - luteal phase deficiency (LPhD) of the menstrual cycle of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS); goal - restore reproductive function of women with LPhD on the background of PCOS by improving diagnostic techniques and the establishment of therapeutic and preventive measures; methods - clinical, anthropometric, biochemical, ultrasound diagnostics, statistics; results - studied and systematized clinical features of the current LPhD in women with PCOS; the features of hormonal homeostasis in patients with LPhD and background of polycystic ovary syndrome; it proved the existence of hidden insulin resistance in women with LPhD on the background of PCOS in the absence of hyperinsulinemia and changes the index HOMA-IR; defined sonographic features of ovarian and endometrium of women with LPhD on the background of PCOS with the establishment of ovulatory dysfunction types; proved the role of vitamin D deficiency in the pathogenesis of LPhD; the relationship of vitamin D deficiency with the development of insufficiency of the luteal phase in women with PCOS and pathogenetic link between vitamin D deficiency and the degree of manifestation of the LPhD; substantiated and methodological approaches to improved diagnostics and conservative methods of correction LPhD women with ovulatory PCOS phenotype and vitamin D deficiency; branch – medicine.
