The thesis presents the results of a comprehensive scientific study of the protection and defence of civil rights of foreigners in the notary procedure. The content of the terms "legal protection" and "legal defence" is defined. The legal nature of the constituent elements of a legal mechanism has been found out and analyzed to ensure the civil rights of foreigners in the notary procedure. This research provides with legal qualifications of public relations according to the protection of civil rights, indicates regulation peculiarities of civil relations with a foreign element in the notary procedure. Protection and defence of civil rights of foreigners in succession are investigated; The mechanism, which is provided by notary in the sphere of civil rights of foreigners on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, is described. This analysis detects the shortcomings in civil and notary law and suggests the improvmentsfor the provisions of the Civil Code of Ukraine, Laws of Ukraine "On Notary", "On the rights and freedoms of citizens and legal regime of the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine" and Act of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine "On Approval of the procedure of notarial actions by notaries of Ukraine."
