The paper investigates the formation of Yevhen Petrushevych’s state-legal views. The work considers and analyzes historiography, sources, theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of professional activity, formation of social and political views and inquires into Y. Petrushevych’s political and le¬gi-slative activity in the Diet of Galicia and Lodomeria and the Austrian Parliament.The role of Yevhen Petrushevych in the Ukrainian state building and law-making during the period of national liberation struggle at the lands Western Uk-raine has been analyzed. The Y. Petrushevych’s contribution to the deve¬lop¬ment of Ukrainian constitutionalism has been studied.
