The thesis is devoted to the comprehensive investigation of the constitutional right of the citizens to serve in local authorities and its enforcement in Ukraine. The basic stages of development of scientific thought and legal sources of constitutional right to serve in local authorities of Ukraine and several foreign countries have been investigated. The concept, features, nature of the abovementioned right, its place in the system of constitutional political rights of a human and citizen have been justified. The mechanism of implementation of constitutional rights of the citizens of Ukraine to serve in local authorities, concepts and types of guarantees of its enforcement have been analysed as well.
