Nedoluga V. Cognitive impairments of patients with ischemic stroke

The dissertation is devoted to the study of peculiarities and risk factors of cognitive impairments and efficiency of their complex treatment with the use of the frequency-modulative magnetolaser therapy method. In stroke patients evaluation of cognitive functions according to the MMSE scale was lower compared with patients of control group Higher prevalence of impairments of attention and calculation has been observed in stroke patients compared with control group. Investigator observed better short-term and long-term verbal memory and space gnosis in early recovery period compared with acute period of ischemic stroke. It has been proved that the risk factors of cognitive impairments in acute and early recovery period of stroke are age, heavy neurology deficit, increased intima-media thickness, low level of education, high value pulse pressure during day-time , night-time and 24-hour, night-time systolic blood pressure, non-dipper and night-peaker type of circadian rhythm of blood pressure. Obtained data proved the expediency of frequency-modulative magnetolaser therapy application in the complex treatment of cognitive impairments in patients with consequences of ischemic stroke.
