Tsytsyk K. The effectiveness of prudential risk-oriented banking supervision.

The dissertation is devoted to comprehensive deepening of the theoretical principles of prudential banking supervision and substantiation of the practical guidelines for assessment of the effectiveness of prudential banking supervision with an aim to restore financial sustainability of the banking system and prevent systemic banking crisis in Ukraine. The theoretical methodological approach to evaluation of the effectiveness of prudential banking supervision based on definition of functional, institutional and operational components of supervision is developed, which has served as basis for constructing an aggregate indicator of compliance of supervisory practices with the Core Principles for Effective Banking Supervision and has provided specification of supervisory functions and powers of the National Bank of Ukraine. The organizational backgrounds to ensure the effectiveness of prudent risk-oriented banking supervision in Ukraine are improved through identification of methodological, personnel and professional, legal and regulatory, organizational and communicative subsystems in the context of reformation of an organizational structure of the National Bank of Ukraine.
