Otrishchenko N. Applying Projective Methods in Sociological Research: Reliability and Validity Criteria

The work is devoted to the specifics and prospects of using projective methods in sociology and ways of ensuring their reliability and validity. The author describes the experience of using projective methods, outlines their advantages and disadvantages in sociological research, provides the discussion about thequality of information and proposes the scheme for ensuring reliability and validity of projective drawings and method of completed sentences, depending on the stage of the research. Based on the interpretive analysis of completed sentences and projective drawings as well as coding of textual and visual materials, the author proves efficacy of projective methods in studying images of the space.
