The thesis examines the social preconditions of construction the Orthodox churches in Volyn region in XIX - early XX centuries. Classifies urban planning, planning and three-dimensional features of wooden churches of Volyn. The author detects the morphological characteristic features of church heritage. Finds out the main directions of architectural transformism in wooden sacral building. The author formulates the basic principles for preservation of wooden churches.
