The thesis examines the legal situation of refugees in Ukraine. Investigated theoretical aspects of the legal situation of refugees in Ukraine: associated with it terminology, the ratio of the notions of "shelter" and "refugee status", the appropriateness of extending the definition of the term "refugee" in national legislation. The analysis of the system and powers of State bodies and bodies of local self-government, exercising rights of refugees in Ukraine. The problem of the definition of the State organ responsible for recognizing persons refugees in Ukraine, making decisions about loss and deprivation of the status of refugees. Formulated proposals for improving the legal situation of refugees in Ukraine.
