Essay

In the thesis the legal nature and essence of international standards, that laid down in the European Charter of Local Self-Government 1985, in the field of local government were revealed. History, political and social conditions of origin and development of ideas and principles of local self-government in the member states of the Council of Europe are studied. Independent translation of the English and French texts of the Charter and their linguistic characteristics was done. In the thesis also analyzed the quality of national implementation of the principles of the Charter in legislation Ukraine, these problems and ways to solve existing problems in the process.
