Essay

The thesis presents results of a study on the distribution and development of six types of root rot: eyespot, sharp eyespot, take-all, fusarium root rot, common root rot, pythium root rot in Ukrainian Polissya. The presence of five species of Pythium - P. sylvaticum, P. irregulare, P. graminicola, P. ultimumand, P. debaryanum on winter wheat root system was identified. P. sylvaticum, P. irregulare and P. graminicola were the most dominant species, whereas P. irregulare and P. graminicola were the most pathogenic. The resistance of domestic breeding varieties of winter wheat to pythium root rot, fusarium root rot and take-all was studied using methods of artificial inoculation of plants in laboratory and field conditions. The varieties were divided into groups according to their tolerance to take-all. The effect of sowing terms of winter wheat on eyespot severity in Ukrainian Polissya was investigated. It was found that the optimum sowing time is 10-20 September. It was established that the using of fungicide Lamardor, 400FS,TH in mixture with plant-growth regulator Gumisol for pre-sowing seed treatment is optimal in consumption rates, accordingly, 0,15 and 12 l/t.
