The dissertation is devoted to investigating the semantics and poetic text sound organizing of the Ukrainian poets of the first half of the 20th century, defining the peculiarities of the quantitative correlation of means of creating sound imagery as the sign of individual poets' styles and literary movements of the first half of the 20th century. The paper highlights the problem of balance of sound and meaning in the poetic text; the phenomenon of sound symbolism and sound imitation as the constituents of poetic text sound depicting system components was grounded; the stylistic functions of the poetic text sound organizing and the role of sound images in the poetic speech of the Ukrainian poets of the first half of the 20th century were determined; the concept of "sound image", "sound trope" was specified; the variety of sound tropes, their meaning and functions in organizing the poetic text were analyzed; the peculiarities of the quantitative correlation of the most widely used sound tropes and poetic text sound organizing means were investigated; the specific features of phonosemantic arranging the individual authors' style inherent to the Ukrainian poets of the first half of the 20th century were determined.
