Diachkova Y. Prospective Lawyers' Professionally Oriented English Speaking Competence Development

The thesis deals with the problem of prospective lawyers' professionally oriented English speaking competence development using web quest. It considers the historical and methodological genesis of the problems professionally oriented English speaking competence development; clarifies the objectives and content of the professionally oriented English speaking competence development of prospective lawyers. The most frequent functional types of monologue and dialogue in legal speech are marked in the thesis. In the research work the linguistic features of legal professionally oriented English-language speaking were investigated, the web quest as a means the competence development was specified. In the thesis a selection of materials was done; theoretically justified and practically developed system of exercises for prospective lawyers' professionally oriented English-language speaking training was worked out; the model of organizing training was developed. The effectiveness of the developed methodology was experimentally proved and the corresponding guidelines were introduced.
