The subject of research touches O. Pisemskiy's historical tragedies "Samoupravtsy" (1865), "Lieutenant Gladkov" (1866), "Myloslavskye and Naryshkyny" (1867); the main purpose is to make a complete analysis of the historical tragedies of O. Pisemskiy, determine their place in the Russian drama of the second half of the XIX century; the methods are comparative typological, intertextuality, contextual; novelty - the first time to take an attempt to give a complete description of the historical drama created by O. Pisemskiy; the results can be used in further studies of O. Pisemskiy artistic heritage, in teaching the course of the history of Russian literature of the XIX century, as well as training courses and special seminars devoted to the very writer; the Specialization is Philology.
