Kornienko L. Investigation of membrane processing of grain distillery stillage

The dissertation is devoted to the improving of grain distillery stillage processing using membrane distillation, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis. The rational modes were determined for the filtration of centrate of grain distillery stillage by membrane distillation, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis. The theoretical model of contact membrane distillation of grain distillery stillage was further developed. The analytical dependence was proposed to determine the membrane efficiency as a function of influential factors. On this basis the rational modes of process were scientifically substantiated. The mathematical model of ultrafiltration of centrate of grain distillery stillage was developed. The algorithm for calculation of solution concentration at the outlet of each module of ultrafiltration unit was proposed. It was found that the membrane fouling was caused by gradual pore blocking and cake formation during separation of ultrafiltration centrate of grain distillery stillage. The apparatus schemes were developed for the processing of centrate of grain distillery stillage by membrane methods.
