Zhmurko I. The development of the system of pension insurance for rural population in Ukraine

The thesis summarizes theoretical views on social and economic nature of pension insurance as the main constituent element of social protection. It was considered its characteristics and functions. The basic stages of pension insurance in Ukraine were explored. There was made the estimation of the current state pension system in the country, the main role of the Pension Fund of Ukraine as the main financial institution of the national pension system. There was analyzed the current pension state of rural population in Ukraine, it was justified the formation of the Pension Fund, taking into account the socio-economic condition of the rural population. The basic social, economic and demographic factors that affect the state pension insurance in rural areas were investigated. It was determined that the basic approach is to evaluate foreign national pension systems, particularly for the rural population, based on a multi-functioning pension systems. The proposals on the functioning of funded pension schemes of further improvement of the system of pension insurance in rural areas were worked out. The model of operation of mandatory funded pension system for agricultural workers in the initial phase of its implementation in Ukraine was proposed.
