The dissertation is devoted to the complex research of the lingual and stylistic of the means of the comic in the Ukrainian prose the end of ХХ century - beginning of ХХІ century. The main theoretical approaches to the comic as social lingual and aesthetic phenomenon are processed. The common and different kinds of the varieties of comic are given. The linguistic and stylistic options of the comic through prism of the main concepts and terms are analyzed. The typical language means and forms of the expression of comic in the Ukrainian prose of the appointed period are motivated. Lexical and phraseology means of the creation of comic are characterized. The role of pronouns, numerals, interjections and others lexical and grammatical classes of the words to provide of the comic effect are found.
