Essay

Problems of the achieving equivalence of research constructs measurement in cross-national sociological surveys are analyzed in this dissertation. Statistical invariance is defined as a means of measurement equivalence verification during cross-national sociological surveys. The main role of statistical invariance in the commensuration of constructs is argued. The algorithm of determining statistical invariance is being substantiated by using constructs of social and political trust based on the research data of the European Social Survey third wave (2007), fourth wave (2009), fifth wave (2011), and sixth wave (2013) for Ukraine, Russia and Poland.
