Classifications of valuing, known in foreign and domestic linguistics, have been specified; the role of evaluative means when creating expressive coloring of literary text has been cleared out; the ways of realization and intensification of evaluative meaning, taking into consideration specificity of historical texts, have been characterized; the markers of valuing in Ukrainian historical text have been detected; the text-creating characteristics of valuing in Ukrainian historical novels of the last decades have been explained; interdisciplinary aspects of the category of valuing have been studied.
