Object of research: public administration of physical culture and sport development in higher educational establishments of Ukraine. Objective: justification of theoretical foundations and practical recommendations for improving the mechanisms of public administration of physical culture and sports in higher educational establishments of Ukraine. Methods: induction, deduction, abstraction, generalization, analysis and synthesis, formal-logical, comparative legal and mathematical-statistical. Results: specific scientific problem solved with the development of theoretical positions and development proposals for improving the mechanisms of public administration of physical culture and sports development in higher educational establishments of Ukraine. Novelty: developed the structural-functional strategic direction of state regulation quality of physical culture and sports development; improved efficiency criteria of public administration of physical culture and sports development in higher educational establishments of Ukraine; obtained the further development of the principles of the development and operation mechanisms of public administration of physical culture and sports in higher educational establishments of Ukraine and others. Introduced in the activities of the Department of Education and Science of Kharkiv Regional State Administration and the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine.
