The object is institute of political leadership in Ukraine. The aim is to identify opportunities of political leadership as a factor in the democratization of the political process in Ukraine. The methods are system, retrospective, comparative. This research focuses on the transformation of political leadership as a factor in the democratization of political leadership in Ukraine. Proved within the modernization of the political process to institute political leadership Ukraine should treat the task of consolidating democracy, accompanied by a profound transformation in the behavioral and evaluative level, making citizens of new behavioral patterns. Reveals that within this phase are necessary actors, which can ensure that the citizens of the new models and their transition into stable structures to ensure the consolidation of democracy based on civic culture. We show that these actors can be political leaders that affect the success of democracy and overcoming challenges to its implementation. Mobilizing the public they can effectively combat apathy, inspiring followers - to overcome their frustration and more. Application spheres are the functioning of public authorities and local governments, training courses.
