The thesis contains the systematized information on application of social and communication technology of edutainment in the world, its formation and current condition and prospects of development of this technology on Ukrainian television, in particular in TV broadcasting for children's audience. Analysis of foreign experience of implementation of "education + entertainment" technology showed that the edutainment is effective means of awareness raising, impact on individual behavior of audience and creating conditions for change of social and cultural standards.
