The thesis is dedicated to the contract of employment under Roman law and features of its reception in the law of Ukraine. The state of scientific development of the research subject is revealed. Development of the contract of employment under Roman law is singled out. The features of the contract of employment under Roman law are singled out. Definition of its concept is proposed. The types of employment contract are defined, its distinction from the related relationships is presented. The contracting parties of employment contract, its terms peculiarities of its conclusion and its entry into force are determined. The rights and obligations of the renter and tenant under the contract of employment are characterized. The grounds for termination of employment contract under Roman law are clarified. The features of reception of the Roman law provisions about employment contract in Ukrainian law. There have been analysed the possibility and peculiarities of the certain provisions of Roman law influence on the Ukrainian law.
