The current research focuses on intellectual property crimes, its criminological nature, the solving of theoretical and applied problems related to the determination and prevention of this negative social phenomenon. The paper provides definition of intellectual property crimes, clarifies its characteristics and define its place in the structure of crimes. The trends of crimes are determined on the basis of quantitative and qualitative indicators analysis. The latency level of these crimes is determined. With the "system-structure approach" the basic traits of persons who commit intellectual property crimes are determined and the classification of their criminal behavior is provided. We consider the social consequences of intellectual property crimes. The determination of these crimes study is set out through the determination complexes. The international and foreign experience prevention of crimes intellectual property is considered. The series of measures of generally social and specifically criminological prevention of intellectual property crimes are set out.
